Peace

Ever get in a stitching funk and just don't pick up your needle for a week or so? I'm so there! But I am stitching this weekend if it kills me! LOL Gotta do a biscornu for an Exchange, so that's great motivation to get back in the swing.

In the meantime, I don't think I shared my "Peace" ornament that I stitched the end of last year. It's the Rosewood Manor design from the 2008 JCS Ornament Issue. I love the original colors they used, but I wanted to make mine traditional red & green.

I used one strand of green DMC and one strand of green metallic, so it really sparkles. Not sure how I'll finish it, but I really like how it turned out.

Tinsel Tangled?

This was my last finish for 2008. It's a cutie by Lizzie Kate that my friend Eva gifted to me, and I really enjoyed every single stitch!


I got a chance to upload a few more pictures over the weekend, so I'll get them posted over the next few days.

My new computer should be here the first week of March! I can't wait!

Stitcher's Stocking Delivered!

Missy has received her TS Stitcher's Stocking Exchange, so now I can post a picture of what I stitched for her. I chose part of the Full Circle Designs Ornament from the 2008 JCS Ornament Issue...

This little fella was a fun stitch, and I think he looks rather handsome in his new home. He can also be taken out and used as an ornament if she chooses.

Jorja's Round Robin

I finished up my contribution to Jorja's Round Robin, and it's in the mail home to her as we speak. I stitched Elizabeth's Designs "Woodland Sampling" with a few little modifications...

I like how it turned out, and I hope Jorja does, too. Her RR is beautiful so far, and I'm anxious to see how she finishes it up...

Finished Round Robin

Oh, this not having a computer really BITES! But one good side effect is that I've been stitching away.

Six of Six Is Done

WooHoo! Happy Dance with me! I finished Six of Six during football yesterday, so the set is done!


Now I'm anxious to start a new set of these, but I'll resist the urge until next year. Have you seen Valentine Wishes? I have a gorgeous piece of pink linen all ready for these, too!

Halloween Tuck Exchange

My partner for this Exchange was Shelli who is currently on vacation in Hawaii (I'm jealous), so her tuck bag is waiting for her in her mailbox. This is what I stitched for her...

Vee framed my "Flying 101" and I just got it back yesterday. Isn't it adorable? I LOVE the purple frame!

I finally got the frogging done on Six of Six and worked on it for a bit last night. I sure wish I had a smaller Q-Snap because my carpal tunnel really hurts when I work in hand. I know I have a hoop "somewhere." LOL

Five Down, One To Go

I finished Five of Six over the weekend. Only one more to go and I'll have completed 3 sets! I bet y'all are getting tired of seeing these, huh?

This isn't the "actual" one. DS took the camera to a birthday party Miss M attended and FORGOT IT! But this is exactly what the one I just finished looks like.

So far I've got everything on my September Goals list done except for starting House #11 on HOHRH. I hope to get it on the 'ole Q-snap this week. Man, I wish I had some Q-snap covers 'cause that hunk of fabric is massive. Anyone know someone who does nice ones?

Four of Six DONE!

I started this one Friday at lunch and finished it yesterday during football. Only 2 more to go!

Lynne and I had a great time together Friday night, and she actually stitched! Of course I don't think her mind was completely on it because she frogged the same little spot 4 times, but at least she had needle in hand after weeks of not stitching.

I hope to get a design picked out for my Halloween tuck and get it finished this week. The biggest challenge isn't going to be finding and stitching the perfect chart...it's going to be the candy actually making it INTO the tuck and into the mail! YUM! :)

Missy's RR Is Finished

I finished Missy's house last night. She asked that we stitch a house that makes us feel comfy, and I chose "Pine Top Lodge" from LHN. I can just imagine cuddling up to a nice fire with my WIP and a cup of hot chocolate just stitching the night away here...

And here's the way it looks so far. I love the square she stitched! So appropriate for a friendship neighborhood! A skein of floss shows just how tiny the stitches are...

Finished Three of Six

I finished the third Blue Ribbon ornament yesterday...

Only 3 more to go and my set will be complete. They're such a fun stitch, too. I can almost do the alphabet now without looking at the chart. LOL

Missy's house now has a front and window panes, and will be getting a roof this week. I really like how it's looking so far. I think I need to find a few more little motifs to help fill my square which should be fun. I love mixing and matching!

Stitch Night Cancelled :(

Miss Lynne took a raincheck on our stitch night this week, so I came on home instead and after dinner and dishes sat down for some stitching and forensics. I made quite a bit of progress on Three of Six and should wrap it up tomorrow.

My TS Mini Mystery partner Shari has received her mini so I can show it now. I stitched an "S" with a little skein of DMC inside, and paired it with a fob made of beads in the same colors...

The charm on the fob says, "Life Is Measured By Moments." I also included a yummy Lindt orange dark chocolate candy bar and a couple of skeins of Cyndi hand-dyed flosses. I hope Miss Shari likes her goodies.

I Can Show My Model!

Vee at VeeandCo has released her new Fall designs so I can share the model I stitched for her. This is "Fall" and is part of her seasonal series...

Isn't it cute? I really enjoyed stitching it up for her. I have enough of the fabric left to do the other 3 seasons, too, so they're on that ever-growing "To Do" list.

I finished up the gridding of my TS Neighborhood RR this weekend. Tonight I'm starting on another model for Vee that she needs by the end of the month, so I gotta cook on that!

Finished Two of Six

I finished my third and final "Give Encouragement" Blue Ribbon ornament over the weekend. Two down, four more to go. This is actually the first one I did, but the one I just finished is remarkably similar. LOL I used more gold to replace the pink that the chart called for. Definitely more my style...

I also started my center for our TS Neighborhood Round Robin. I'm using a tree from the LHN "Neighborhood" with a lady, a squirrel, and a rooster under it. Talk about me in a nutshell! Then I asked the girls to stitch any house they'd like that makes them feel "cozy." I can't wait to see what they come up with!

Christmas In July

This is the ornament I stitched for Brenda in our TS Christmas in July Ornament Exchange. Karen made the tuck, and I found the gingerbread man in a back issue of a BH&G Christmas magazine. Nothing like a little instant gratification in stitching something small and sweet, too!



I got the bottom border of House #10 finished last night, and I'm ready to start on the actual house. I love how it looks so far, and I'll snap a picture of the WIP when Patrick returns the batteries he "borrowed" from my camera. The snit.

The First Of Six

I've already stitched two sets of the Blue Ribbon Designs "Christmas Sentiments: Volume 1." The first set I used to pay for finishing of the other set which I will use for gifts this Christmas. The set I'm working on now is MINE! Here is the first one finished and ready to go to Miss Lola for her to work her magic...



The letters and numbers are all over one, and the design and border are over two. I'm using Vintage Grain Belfast which I really LOVE. I enjoy stitching these and plan to do other sets as well. Especially the Valentine ones!


I worked on House #10 last night and got a lot done on the bottom section. The boys were gone, Miss M and her Dad went to the pool, so I enjoyed some quiet time with my stitching and forensics shows. If it had been raining it would have been heaven on earth. LOL

I'm working half a day on Friday and I guess we'll spend the evening at the pool. I hope to find some sparklers for Maddy. I miss the big fireworks, but the traffic is just too insane to even attempt to try it. It'll be nice hanging out, though, and just relaxing for the holiday.
